Dr. Chow is a hip and knee replacement surgeon with additional advanced training in hip & knee arthroscopy. He is co-pioneering and teaching a new combination technique which incorporates elements of both approaches, SUPERCAP® and PATH®. This technique utilizes the strengths of both approaches, and has potential advantages over other minimally invasive techniques (such as the anterior, lateral, posterior, or 2-incision approaches). Using this technique, no muscles or tendons are damaged, the hip is never dislocated in surgery and the tools & implants are assembled inside of the body. Additionally, unlike most other minimally invasive techniques, this combined approach is also completely adjustable to the patient, allowing for appropriate surgical implantation regardless of most deformities.
Dr. Chow continues to lecture, present and train surgeons in hip reconstructive techniques.
Dr. Chow has advanced training in both Total Joint Replacement Surgery & Arthroscopic Surgery. He has been formally trained at the New England Baptist Hospital, part of the Harvard Caregroup in Boston, Massachusetts. There he completed the prestigious Otto E. AuFranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Chow has also completed a fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery from the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He completed his orthopaedic surgical training and earned his MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has recently joined the Arizona Center for Bone & Joint Disorders (formerly known as the Arizona Institute for Bone & Joint Disorders).
