Wright’s STATURE™ Modular Hip Reconstruction

Anatomically Accurate

STATURE™ Modular Hip Reconstruction
Would you like to receive a customized hip replacement designed to fit your anatomy, specifically? You can.

hip implant designs based on stature, not gender That's the concept behind Wright's STATURE™ Modular Hip Reconstruction platform - simply that no two patients are alike - and we have designed our hip implants to accommodate each patient's individuality.

And no, we don't base our implant designs on your gender, whether you are male or female; we design our implants to specifically reconstruct your anatomy, based on your stature. Afterall, you may be a slight male, or a tall female.

At Wright, we are firmly convinced that it's stature, not gender, that determines what implant options you should receive.

You may have already read about the increased range of motion offered by Wright's acetabular components which were designed with a much larger diameter than traditional hip replacements, so that their size and shape mimics the body's natural anatomy much more closely.

Well, there are two other components that connect and work with the BFH® components in a total hip replacement from Wright. There is also a neck and a stem. Both the PROFEMUR® Modular Necks and the PROFEMUR® Stems that work with Wright's BFH® components come in many shapes and sizes so that your surgeon can put together 4 interlocking parts that fit each particular part of your hip's anatomy - cup, head, neck and stem.

Wright Medical’s hip replacement options, Wright's hip replacement option – smaller incision
In contrast, traditional hip replacements have offered much more limited choices that are not modular - in that there are only 3 components to the system - a cup, a head and a fixed neck stem. This, one-size-fits-all approach to fitting each patient's individual hip anatomy, may limit the degree of success of the surgery.

In some cases, using a fixed neck system, instead of a modular neck system, may force the tendons in the hip capsule to become over- or under-tensioned resulting in an unbalanced repair. In other instances, using a fixed neck instead of a modular neck system may cause a discrepancy in leg length to occur. Any of these possible scenarios may influence the quality of your gait, post-operatively or your satisfaction with your surgical result.

One additional benefit to STATURE™ Modular Hip Reconstruction is that modular hip replacement components are the perfect complement to any tissue-preserving surgical technique. A traditional fixed neck system can be difficult to place in a small incision and may require more manipulation to place it properly, resulting in more soft tissue damage, which directly affects the amount of post-operative discomfort and length of recovery time.

By giving your surgeon more options to choose from, STATURE™ Modular Hip Reconstruction from Wright encourages just that - a reconstruction of your anatomy, instead of just a replacement.
